Introduction - Rodrik [Eve Online]

Hello!

Thanks for sharing the info and link to the TACCOM Ed!

Just joined and I think this is a great idea and product! I play Eve Online and have been working with Ed on the Sea One Eve mining enhancement accessory which has been awesome to work with Ed on! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I think this is a great product that can enhance comms for the (Eve) fleet commander, wing commanders and their individual squads if necessary. Most all Eve corps and alliances use either Discord or TeamSpeak and if you have ever been in an Eve fleet with 40-60+ folks it can get quite “busy/ chatty” as sometimes instructions and/or commands are missed between the fleet leadership because of all the chatter and overtalking.

With the TACCOM used by only the fleet commander, wing commanders and optionally/ possibly select squads, the commands given would be clear without the chatter of the Discord or TS group(s). This also would give security of the message to command/ leadership member(s) it is intended for only without the entire fleet hearing what is broadcasted. The concept of this also works in my theory that not everyone in the fleet would need a TACCOM- Only the 2-6+ folks in leadership/ sub leader roles. This would be beneficial to those that are on a budget or limited resources.

These are just my initial thoughts on the use of the TACCOM, but I can see where many, many other games would benefit from this! Possibly even the real-life business sector pending the industry and/or need.

Looking forward to this and more! Glad to be here and part of the group!

Rodrik! Welcome back man!

It’s so great to have you aboard for EVE! Here’s what’s in place now with respect to EVE Online:

  • Each EVE System has its own frequency (for example Jita is EVE.5608)
  • Each frequency has up to 100 sub channels (Channel 1, Channel 2, etc)

This is how you would greet new pilots in system.

However, you can own certain frequencies and completely manage access. If you own the frequency, you can setup who can broadcast to all channels on the TACCOM.io website.

And yes, guests would access a specific frequency on the website here (As long as they have access):
https://taccom.io/EVE.[FREQUENCY].[CHANNEL]

Example: https://taccom.io/EVE.100.1
